These shoes are perfect for dress up or a fun outing (not so great in a rain storm).

Materials:
Shoes (canvas or dull leather shoes work best for painting)
Horizon acrylic gems
Elmer's® Paint pens
Plaid® Folk Art Acrylic Paint
Elmer's® thick bond tacky glue
Paint brushes
Plaid Sea Sponge
Toothpick
Embellishments

1. Base coat the shoes with desired acrylic paint.  It may take two coats of paint depending on the color and material.  Masking tape works well for covering areas where you don't want paint.  For added embellishment, you can sponge paint or splatter the shoe surface also.  Leave the shoes to dry entirely.
2. Depending on your design, you can doodle all over the shoe surface with paint pens or outline painted designs with them.  Set shoes aside to dry.
3. Use thick glue to attach the acrylic gems wherever you like.  Leave to dry before wearing.
