Directions:
1. Pick your favorite crayons and grab a piece of paper.
5 min.

2. Explore your environment to find interesting textures. They can be found all over! Bumpy walls, trees, and gritty sidewalks make good textures!
15 min.

3. As you explore, put your paper over the top of these textures and rub your crayon back and forth over the paper so that the texture shows through.  For each different texture, color a 3-4” square of space.
15 min.

4. Once you have gathered a group of textures, choose shapes to make out of them. Draw these shapes over top of the crayon in pencil with a stencil.
10 min.

5. Cut out your shapes and glue them with your glue stick into a scene in your artist journal, then outline with markers.
10 min.
