Always cover your work surface with a mat or some type of protective covering like wax paper or plastic.

Cut the half feather shapes out so it outs open to a whole feather. Because feathers are symmetrical, they reflect across the fold to make their whole shape! Background 2. Get a lot of paint on your brush and start painting it at the top of your paper in big horizontal strokes. 3. Get more paint and water on your brush and start painting down the page in big horizontal strokes. Try to fade the color out toward the bottom of the page. 4. Let the watercolor dry. If you have a very wet background, it might take overnight. Afterwards glue the feather on the watercolor paper in a flowing arrangement.
