Materials:
- Canson® Mixed Media Sketchbook
- Plaid® paints, various shades of either cool or warm colors
- Multi-bristled paint brush
- Paper towel or old cloth towel
- Bowl of water

Directions:
1. Choose four colors you like that are in the warm or cool color family. If you like warm colors more, choose shades of red, orange and yellow. If you like cool colors you will use green, blue and purple shades.

2. With your multi-bristled brush, choose one color and paint vertical lines up and down your page. Wait five minutes for the paint to dry.

3. Clean off your brush and choose your next color. Paint horizontal lines that go across your page and are perpendicular to the first layer. Wait five minutes for them to dry.

4. Clean your brush. Choose your third color and paint vertical lines over your second layer. After this has dried, repeat step three with a new color.
