Pirate Coins
By Chicory Koren

We had been reading about coins and had lots of pictures of ancient gold and silver coins with patterns impressed on them. We used the pictures for inspiration when creating our own coins.

Materials Needed:
Sargent Art® Sculpt-It!™ – Air-hardening clay
Sargent Art ®Liquid Metals® Metallic Acrylic Paint
Paint brush
Assorted items from your junk drawer

Directions:
1. Flatten small balls of clay to size of coins.
2.  Press found items into clay to create interesting patterns.
3. Allow clay to dry.
4. Paint coins gold and silver.

This is a very easy project that can be done with the odds and ends in your junk drawer. Our family bonds while we are crafting, using fun tools and interesting materials. The children are encouraged with knowing that there is no right or wrong way, just to have fun being creative.
