Just for fun: Often, just noodling around with materials without any specific aim in view leads to exciting and new effects, techniques and ideas. Sometimes we need to just play in the studio and see where we go.
Experiment!
Materials Needed:
Faber-Castell Gel Sticks
Faber-Castell Watercolor pencils
Faber-Castell Gel Crayons
Faber-Castell Beeswax Crayons
Faber-Castell Connector Watercolors
Faber-Castell Connector Pens
Canson® XL Watercolor paper; XL Mi-Teintes pastel paper
Directions:
Assemble a number of art materials and experiment. Try using these materials in a different way (beeswax crayons and watercolor together, paint on top of something you’ve already drawn, etc.) Make random marks or pools of watercolor and blot, fold or smear. When dry, use this as a starting point instead of a clean piece of white paper. What do you think is different about working on a piece of colored or black? Try it and find out! |
