Materials:
Faber-Castell® Connector Watercolor Paints
Faber-Castell® Gel Sticks
Faber-Castell® Connector Pens
Canson® Art Board

Directions:
Create a pop up structure by folding your illustration board to a 90 degree angle.

You can create your background first using Gel Sticks to illustrate trees, leaves, water.  Then, add detail with Connector Pens.

The Watercolor Paints are great for adding very intense color and muted washes of color to create distance in your background.

Draw your hippopotamus (or creature of your imagination), cut it out and secure it in place within your pop up using a bit of tape or a brad.  Now when you read your favorite piece of literature you have a scene to peer at!
