- Three 12 “ squares cardstock
- 10” square quilt batting or newspaper
- Elmer’® Glue – All ™
- Elmer’s ® Squeeze ‘n Brush® Washable Paint
- Brushes in colors desired
- Stiff paint brush
- Ruler, Pencil and Scissors or Paper Trimmer

- Use the Squeeze ‘n Brush® paint brushes to decorate 2 sheets of the cardstock as desired. Big, bold strokes or shapes work best. Let dry.
- Cut decorated cardstock into one inch wide strips.
- Weave the strips to make a 12” square. Apply glue at all crossings as you weave, and under all tabs along edges. Let dry.
- Use the brush to apply a layer of glue over entire woven surface. Let dry.
- Use the brush to apply a layer of glue over the remaining sheet of cardstock. Place batting or newspaper in center of cardstock. Use the brush to apply a layer of glue over entire back of woven surface. Place on top of batting and smooth into place. Press edges together well. Let dry.
- Use the brush to apply another layer of glue over entire mat, one side at a time, allowing top side to dry before covering other side.
