Main supplies:

  • Pacon® Rainbow® construction paper – red, yellow, blue, white
  • Fiskars® Paper Edgers
  • Fiskars® Hole punch
  • Alphabet stencil
  • Rubber band

    Basics supplies:

  • Black marker
  • Ruler
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Instructions:
1. Cut the following pieces:

Two, 6” x 6” squares of red paper
Two, 7” x 1-1/2” pieces of yellow paper
6” x 2½” piece of blue paper (use paper edgers along one 6” edge)
Enough 6” x 6” pieces of white paper for all your friends

2. Draw a line ½” from the edge of one piece of the white paper. Mark 2” from the top of the paper and the bottom of the paper, along this line. Punch a hole at each mark, and then use this as a guide to punch holes in the red and white pieces of paper. Fold the blue strip of paper in half and then use the guide to mark and punch the holes on each side of the fold.
3. Use the alphabet stencil and black marker to letter the words, “School Friends” on the yellow strips of paper. Glue the strips at an angle across one piece of red paper. Then trim so that the ends are even with the edges.
4. Ask your friends to write their name and glue a small school photo of themselves on one side of a white sheet of paper. They can also add a personal note to you, or any other information you would like to have.
5. Assemble all of the white pages between the red covers aligning the holes. Wrap the blue strip over the left side. It can be glued to the back if desired. Thread the ends of a rubber band from the back up through the holes to the front then pull the ends over a pencil to hold in place.

Note: You may need to make the blue strip wider and use a larger rubber band if you have lots of pages for your book.
